The Port Dover Yacht Club sailing school is a not-for-profit organization that serves Haldimand, Norfolk, Brant and Brantford and beyond. Courses are offered for youth Monday to Friday, 9 am to 4 pm and for adults on Thursday nights (dinghy) and weekends (keelboat).
The Port Dover Yacht Club has encouraged and trained sailors of all ages and abilities for years by hosting the Ontario Sailing Association's BOOM mobile sailing school.
Thanks to generous donations by the Ontario Trillium Foundation and some local sponsors such as the Simcoe Rotary Club, Bridge Yachts, the Port Dover Racing Division, and many other generous sponsors, we launched our own full-time program in 2009.
One goal of the sailing school advisory committee is to raise funds to send a few financially disadvantaged youth to our program each year who otherwise couldn’t share in our love of this beautiful natural resource. We are pleased to have key partnerships with Haldimand-Norfolk REACH and Big Brothers/Big Sisters of Haldimand-Norfolk-Brant and other great community organizations.
