Some find a sense of liberation to sailing a smaller vessel. Some enjoy how much closer to the water a small craft makes you feel. Some simply enjoy that it's a quicky, easy, and cost-effective way to learn to sail.

We have overhauled our adult dinghy programs this year in a way we hope appeals to busy adults who are eager to learn the sport of sailing in smaller vessel and embrace getting wet! It's really the best way to learn the art of sail.

We will be offering shorter programs which will allow adults to learn the basics of sailboat handling and offer the option to progress through the Canadian Yachting Association levels if interested.

What sets the Adult Dinghy Program apart from the Keelboat program?

There are several key differences between Dinghy and Keelboat sailing:

  • Dinghies are more responsive and easier to sail than a Keelboat
  • A dinghy doesn't require a large crew to operate effectively—many can be operated with a crew of one
  • Dinghies are typically less expensive than Keelboats
  • Dinghy sailing provides a completely different sensory experience from Keelboats

Special Events & Group Lessons

If you have a group interested in taking the course together, either socially or as a team building exercise, we'd be happy to work out some sort of accommodation. Please Contact Us for details.

Do I need to own a dinghy to take the course?

Not at all! We have a fleet of dinghies we use for instruction if you don't already own one, and dinghies are commonly available for rent at most vacation destinations around the world (including Port Dover).
